Call for Submissions: Special Section for Non-Professional Scholars
The Asian Journal of African Studies (AJAS) is pleased to announce a special call for
submissions from non-professional scholars. We invite public officers, entrepreneurs, students, and other individuals to submit columns, op-eds, or theoretical papers offering fresh perspectives on recent key issues related to African studies.

This special section is part of our effort to broaden the reach of AJAS and include diverse voices that enrich the discourse on African studies. Selected submissions will be featured in a dedicated section, with additional pages allocated to these contributions alongside our regular peer-reviewed articles.

 
Submission Guidelines:

• Submissions are due by December 10, 2024.
• Contributions may include columns, opinion pieces, or theoretical discussions on contemporary issues relevant to African studies.
• While authors do not need to be professional scholars, each submission will be screened by a single reviewer to ensure the quality and relevance of the content.

Asian Journal of African Studies (AJAS)

김은경 교수는 9월 5-8일 미국 필라델피아에서 개최된 제120회 미국정치학회 연례학술대회(American Political Science Association Annual Meeting)에 참가하였다. 국가역량에 관한 패널에서 논문 “State capacity and responses to forced displacement in developing countries”를 발표했다. 고텐버그대학교의 Marina Nistotskaya가 좌장을 맡았으며 오슬로대학교의 Carl Henrik Knutsen과 미시건대학교의 Jonathan Hanson이 토론을 맡는 등 세계 저명학자들과 학술교류를 할 수 있는 기회를 가졌다.

한국외국어대학교 아프리카연구소에서 2024학년도 2학기 조교를 모집합니다.

자세한 사항은 아래를 참고하시기 바랍니다.

1. 모집인원 및 지원자격

– 모집인원: 학부생 2명 또는 대학원생 1명

– 지원자격:

1) 공통 사항

• 휴학생 및 수료생은 신청 불가
• 학생인재개발처의 공로장학금과 중복수혜 불가
• 장학금은 등록금 범위 이내

(등록금 초과수혜 불가) 지급 (국가장학금과 중복수혜 가능, 단 등록금 범위 내에서만)

• 장학금 대리 수령 절대 불가

2) 학부생인 경우 지원자격

• 2024-2학기 기준 본교 학부 재학생(8학기 이내)
• 직전학기 성적 평점평균 2.0 이상

3) 대학원생인 경우 지원자격

• 2024-2학기 기준 대학원 정규학기 이내(각 대학원 별 상이)의 등록금 전액을 납부한 재학생

2. 근무 기간(확인 필수) *2024학년도 2학기 및 동계방학 기간 동안 근무

• 2024.09.02.~2025.02.28.
• 학부생의 경우, 주 8시간 근무

3. 업무 내용

• 연구소 운영/행정 보조
• 연구소 정기 세미나 [경계를 넘는 세미나] 준비 및 운영 보조
• 기타 연구소 업무 보조

   4. 선발 과정 및 선발 기준

– 선발 과정:

~ 2024.08.08.: 지원서 접수

~ 2024.08.16.: 면접 및 선발

~ 2024.08.30.: 비대면 및 대면 인수인계

– 선발 기준:

• 참여도 및 성실성, 연구소 사업 및 프로그램에 대한 관심도, 장학금 유무, 성적 등 종합적으로 판단
