My research focuses on Afrocentrism as the new paradigm of African Studies. I argues that African history and culture have been otherized and marginalized by the deep-rooted racial discrimination and the Eurocentric and Westerncentric historiagraphy methodology. Therefore, I am focusing on identifying Africa’s historical and cultural identity by studying Africa’s history and culture from the Afrocentric perspective.

In addition, I have recently been working on African peace and security studies, including “New Strategies for Regional Security and Crisis Management in Africa” , “The Ethiopia’s Tigray Conflict and the Peace and Security of the Horn of Africa” and “A Study on the Historical Factors of Instability in the Great Lakes Region of Africa: Focusing on the Historical Contextualization of Hutu and Tutsi Ethnic Identities” etc.

Research interest: My research interests lie in exploring the landscape of political parties in Africa, particularly within the context of elections and legislatures, and examining what they represent. Specifically, I focus on how socioeconomic cleavages manifest in party politics, investigating non-ethnic factors of political competition and the instrumental use of ethnic identity.
